Ingredients:
- 1 box of your favorite cupcake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Food coloring red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
- Piping bags and star-shaped piping tips
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the package to make the cupcake mix
The cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water are usually mixed together until everything is well mixed
With cupcake liners in place, fill each cup two thirds of the way to the top with the batter that you have already made
Before putting the cupcakes in the oven, heat it to 350F 175C
Bake them for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean
Let them cool down all the way
Put the softened butter in a bowl and beat it until it is smooth and creamy
While beating the butter, slowly add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract
Keep beating until the frosting is smooth and fluffy
Put six equal amounts of frosting into six different bowls
Make frostings that are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple by adding a different color of food coloring to each bowl
Mix well until the colors you want are reached
Each bag should have a star-shaped piping tip
Fill the bags with the different colored frostings, one color at a time
The fun part is now! Put a swirl of rainbow frosting on top of each cupcake that has cooled
Start with one color and add the others in a circle until the frosting looks like a rainbow
If you want, you can decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter
Have fun with your colorful and tasty rainbow swirl frosting cupcakes!
